From Horn Book

In books nine through twelve of the series, Bernie gets invited to an all-night party ([cf2]Poopers[cf1]), has a battle of wits with a new student ([cf2]Rottenest[cf1]), invents a winning project ([cf2]Punk'd[cf1]), and faces down a video game ([cf2]Diddys[cf1]). Stine continues to create predictable yet energetic plots, but that doesn't make up for the books' irritatingly bad jokes and flat characters.
