Literary Award Season is upon us! Many awards, from the National Book Award to the Youth Media Awards are announced as the year closes and the new year begins. Embark on a project with your students to learn more about awards for children and youth literature:
- Have students pick an award from the list to learn more about. Research criteria, who selects the award, the first year the award was given, the first winner, and the most recent winner.
- To go further, have students select a book from the list to read.
