Edna Moran: Hi, my name is Edna Cabcabin Moran. It's an unusual name I know. I grew up self-conscious about my first name Edna because growing up, people often looked at me funny when I said my first name. They'd tell me they had a grandmother or great aunt named Edna or they'd think I was joking or weird. One dance teacher even stopped roll call to tell me in front of the whole class, "You don't even look like an Edna. Your name should be XYZ." I can't even remember the rest of what they said. Also, there are a lot of cartoon characters named Edna. Just do an internet search and you'll see. I came around to appreciating my first name Edna when I was on dance tour in Japan and the people I met there complimented my name.
They said Edna had a nice, soft sound to it. Soon I started hearing that in my own name. Funny how we can hear things differently when we open our minds. As for my last names, Cabcabin is my maiden name and it comes from the Philippines and Moran is my married name. I like the sound of both of them together. Cabcabin Moran. It has a nice rhythmic sound.
