Daniel Nayeri: Hello, my name is Daniel Nayeri, and actually that's not really my name. That's an alias because my real name is Khosrou Nayeri. I'm from Iran, and Khosrou was an ancient king who had legendary carpet and a lot of people think that's where the legend of the magic carpet came from.
So, my name was always Khosrou growing up, but then we came to America and no one can say Khosrou. It's got the "huuh" and the "rrrr" and so we needed to come up with a name that everyone could say and at the time, my mom really liked the name Daniel. And so I consented, and what I should have done is said, "No, no, I want you to call me Commodore Nayeri. Or you know, Axamander the Boundless Nayeri." You'll note that Nayeri is how I say my last name. You can say, "Nayeri" if you want to give it a little Persian relish.
