Torrey Maldonado: Hi, my name is Torrey Maldonado. I'd like to pull back the curtain and take you behind the scenes to how I got my name. My mom was on the fence. She didn't know if I'd be a girl or if I'd be a boy. So if I was a girl, I would be called Victoria, and if I was a boy, I'd be called ... They didn't know. And when I was born a boy, they decided they wanted to somehow keep Victoria. So they just chopped off parts and they called me Torrey.

Now, I wish someone would've told my sisters that because my three older sisters, when I was growing up, they would take advantage of my lollipop Afro
and they would dress me up in their dresses for their tea parties and they would braid my hair and they would still call me Victoria. So for a long time, I still was Victoria until the name Torrey caught on.
