Carter Goodrich: Hello. My name is Carter Goodrich. My first name, Carter, was my grandmother's maiden name on my mother's side. I've learned it's a name that's generated mostly from the South and the southern portions of this country. I've assumed it's a name that originally came to be because it spoke to the profession of whoever the bearer was, so, to push a cart, and I guess that's my life. I've been pushing the cart uphill for a long time. So maybe it's appropriate, but beyond that, I really don't have much information about it. I know when I was a little kid, I hated it because nobody else seemed to share the name. I thought it was a little bit odd. I remember telling my parents I was going to change it when I could, legally, but since then, I like it. I've grown to like the fact that it's not a very common name. I think I've maybe met one or two people in my life that shared the name.
