Lela Nargi: Hello, my name is Lela Nargi, and even though it's a short and simple looking name, when I was growing up it got mispronounced all the time. As a result, I wanted my name to be Jenny, and that's what I named my first cat. Oh, and I also have no middle name, which I thought was grossly negligent on the part of my parents. What's funny is that when I got married, and had the chance to change my last name, I didn't do it. By then I really liked my name, and the fact that there were no other Lela Nargis that I knew of. I even gave my daughter a simple looking name that everyone mispronounces. She's Ara Grazia Cowan. When she was about two years old she decided that it was really unfair that I didn't have a middle name, so she gave me one. It's Chickadee. So now, at least to two members of my immediate family, I am formally known as Lela Chickadee Nargi.
