Nancy Garden: Hello, my name is Nancy Garden, not Gordon or Gardener, just Garden as in flower or vegetable. It started out as Giardina on the Italian island of Sicily, generations ago, but when my grandfather came to this country as a young man, he was afraid that people would have trouble saying or spelling it, so he simplified it to Garden, which means just about the same thing and that's how the name has stayed.
