Kate Cayley: Hello, my name is Kate Cayley. Kate was my great-grandmother's name, and Cayley, people actually often think it's my first name because it's a very common girl's first name. Cayley is an English name that originally French and was slowly, slowly turned into an English name over centuries and centuries. My family came to Canada via Russia. The first Cayleys to end up in Toronto were the younger sons of the British Ambassador to Moscow. So, they actually grew up in Russia and imagine spoke French, and then came across to Canada instead of going back to England. I'm from Toronto and my family has actually been here since the 1830s.
