Christy Hale: Hello, my name is Christy Hale. When I was little I was often called Chris, but in third grade, three boys in my class were nicknamed Chris, so I didn't want that nickname anymore. Eventually, almost everyone switched over to calling me Christy. Many years later, I found out that Christy is a boy's name in Ireland and Scotland.

Hale is my maiden name. My married name is long and complicated, though Hale, H-A-L-E, seems hard to misspell, once I was listed in phone book under Half, H-A-L-F. But did you know that the word whole, W-H-O-L-E, comes from the root word of hale? I want to be whole, not half.
