Meredith Russo: Hi, my name is Meredith Russo. Meredith is a name that I chose, because I've always loved mermaids, and because I was looking up ocean related names, and I found out that Meredith is Welsh for guardian from the sea.

But, if you want something that can help you remember the name Meredith, one of the first people that I ever came out to was a co-worker. That worked at the place where I washed dishes, and he was driving us to a convenience store to pick up energy drinks, and he was this very chill, very punk rock guy, and I looked at him and I was very nervous, and I said, "You know, actually, I'm a girl, and my name is Meredith."

And he just nodded and went, "Murderith, cool."

So, you can remember as Meredith, or you can remember Meredith by remembering Murderith. Which is, honestly, a much cooler nickname than I happened to deserve at that time. Then, of course, Russo is my last name, which is Italian for red. I'm not Italian, don't ask me how I got it. But the origin for the name is a name that was given to the children of people from disapproved of marriages. As best as we can figure, the marriage in question, and I'm putting marriage in quotes, between a Parish priest and some girl that he fell in love with in a village in Sicily.

So, you can remember me as Meredith Russo, or you can remember me as Murderith the Doomed Love Lady. Either one, I think is perfectly appropriate.
