Tenni Magcase: Hello. My name is Tenni Magcase. Shorter name for Athena Santos Magcase Lopez.

My mother gave me the name Athena which we all know as the Greek goddess of wisdom and the arts. When she did, she may or may not have anticipated that I'd be a visual artist when I grew up.

It turned out all for the best. As visual artist and portrait painter, I use Athena to sign my canvas. As children's book illustrator, I prefer to use Tenni Magcase, which I think sounds youngish and perhaps, a bit more for children.

When I was a Kindergarten and an Art teacher back in the Philippines where I am originally from, my students called me Teacher Tenni. That was the precursor.
