Anjali Banerjee: Hello, my name is Anjali Banerjee. The first name, Anjali, comes from a Sanskrit word meaning, a gift, usually an offering of flowers to God. Anjali is a common name in India. I even saw a camera shop there, called Anjali. I took a picture of it.

My last name, Banerjee, is a Bengali Brahmin surname, quite common in Calcutta, India, where I was born. I've been called all kinds of crazy names here in North America, where I grew up. Angela, Angelina, Angelique, Angel, Anholly and when I was little, kids sometimes called me Anjo-Banjo. My cats don't care what my name is, they call me: meow.
