Marina DelVecchio: Hello. My name is Marina DelVecchio. Marina is a Greek name, and it means "of the water."

When I was adopted at the age of eight, my name was taken away from me, and I was then called Catherine. Catherine means "purity" in Greek. The name you are given at birth by your parents is very important. To lose it means that you lose a very special part of yourself. I was Catherine for 25 years until I was pregnant with my son, and then I took back my birth name, Marina. I wanted my children to know me by my real name. I even named my daughter Marina, because it is such a beautiful and unique name. Never give up your name.
