Carlos Aponte: So, my name is Carlos Aponte. Aponte, it comes from the word 'Ponte', which means a bridge. I grew up in Puerto Rico, but I moved to New York. So, in a way, I come from a different place and the Atlantic Ocean is kind of my bridge. I go back and forth to Puerto Rico and I come back to New York. And also I find it really helpful for me to understand that because I try to be a bridge between the culture that I come from and the culture in the States. And also bridge one or two of my students I teach. And a bridge to understanding and bring something new to what I do, which is children's book.
