Elizabeth Partridge: Hi, I'm Elizabeth Partridge. I was named after my mother. My mother is also Elizabeth Partridge. It wasn't until I was about, oh, about 30 years old that I wondered about my name. I asked my mom, "How did I come to be named after you?" She said that actually my godmother, who was Dorothea Lange, the photographer, had chosen my name, not my parents. That she was the one who said, "Elizabeth is a good name. I think you should name your daughter after yourself." So here I am, Elizabeth Partridge.
