Daka Hermon: Hi, everyone. My name is Daka and my name is sort of a mystery even to me. I know my mom has a book and she was just jotting down names that she likes. I think there was a country in Africa called Dakar, and I sometimes wonder if she got it from there. I don't think that was it. I think she was just kind of playing around and came up with Daka. She did tell me that she thought it meant blessed, and I feel blessed, so I accept that. But in my family, I'm only called Didi. No one calls me Daka. I don't think half my family knows that that is my real name. I've been Didi my entire life. My middle initial is a D as well, Daka Deshaun. So it's just Didi for everyone else. And so I'll answer to anything, but usually Didi is the preferable name that I go by in life in general.
