Kaylin George: My name is Kaylin Melia George. I'm from a mixed background. And in my family, we have two given names, one of which is our Hawaiian name. So my Hawaiian name is Melia, which means plumeria. Plumeria is a beautiful flower, and it's actually one of the most common flowers used in lei on the Hawaiian Islands. Lei are actually not made for oneself, but they are made to give to others as a gift and as a sign of your aloha. So perhaps that meaning had something to do with the way my family chose my name.
