Meredith Adamo: Hi. My name is Meredith Adamo, and for most of my life I was the only Meredith I knew, which is exactly what my mom wanted when she named me Meredith. She kind of had two goals. One, to make sure that it was unique, but not too unique. And two, to make sure that it couldn't have a nickname, which does not really work. People can make nicknames out of everything. But I somehow stayed Meredith, and that was just what I went by. And then I got to 7th grade in a brand new middle school, and there were two other Merediths in my grade of 200. And for some reason we all had the same schedule.

So I went from being the only Meredith to being one of three. And to differentiate us, we all got nicknames. So there was Preppy Meredith and there was Brown-Haired Glasses Meredith, and then I was somehow The Other Meredith, which is not the most flattering nickname to have. And eventually it all sorted out and we got to be our own version of Meredith. But I was like, "This is not how I want to be starting my middle school career."
