Ellen Potter: Hi. This is Ellen Potter. My real name is not Ellen actually. It's Susan. My middle name is Ellen. I was born in Brooklyn and I grew up there for a couple of years. My next door neighbor and best friend was named Susan. There was a lot of confusion around that and my parents decided to call me Ellen instead.
That worked out just great until I moved to New York City to an apartment building and living next door was a girl who was soon to be my best friend and guess what? Her name was Ellen too.
