Zee Lacson: Mabuhay. My name is Zee Laxon. I tell people it's spelled Z-E-E because if it were just a letter Z, then I would be called Zed. And if it were just one E, then I would be Zay. As you may have guessed, Zee is a nickname. I use it because the spelling of my given name, Zerina, can be confusing. I'm originally from the Philippines, but my name isn't traditionally Filipino. My father prided himself in giving his children creative and uncommon names. He wanted my name to mean Queen. And said, I was very close to being named Queenie, but liked Zerina better, which can mean a female aristocrat or leader. I like Zerina too, but Zee is just so much easier.
