Martine Leavitt: Hi, my name is Martine Leavitt. Martine means war-like, although I am not, in any way. Leavitt looks like it should be pronounced leave it, L-E-A-V-I-T-T, but actually it's a short E sound, like bread, thread, and dead. I'm very proud of my Leavitt name, I chose it by marrying my husband. Has a long, great pioneer history, and it's one of the reasons I married him.
