Margarita Engle: Hello. My name is Margarita Engle. Margarita means "daisy" in Spanish, but it is also the name of a fortunate saint who was swallowed by a dragon that choked and spat her out. Margarita is an easy name to remember, if you think of words you often overhear in Mexican restaurants. Margarita is a name I received from my Cuban mother, but Engle is my American husband's surname. Engle is easy to remember because it means angel in German.
