Martha Southgate: Hello, my name is Martha Southgate. My middle name is Evelyn, a name that has a long history in my family. It's my mother's middle name, my grandmother's first name and now my daughter Ruby's middle name as well. My last name isn't hard to pronounce, but it is unusual. I always have to spell it for people on the phone. I say S-O-U-T as in Thomas-H-G as in Girl-A-T-E and then the person on the other end of the line says 'Oh, Southgate.' And I say 'Yeah.' I don't feel I could tell you how to say the name of an important person in my book, Another Way To Dance. He's a real person, and my character Vicky has a big crush on him. His name is pronounced Mikhail Nikolayevich Baryshnikov.
