Claudia Gray: Hello. My name is not Claudia Gray. Claudia Gray is the name that I write under, but it's a pseudonym, a name that I chose for myself. I'm not trying to cover up my real name, I just like using a pseudonym. I chose Claudia because of the book I, Claudius, which I happened to be looking at when I was picking out my pseudonym. And I chose Gray because it sounded like the original last name I wanted to use, Lake. Claudia Lake would have been pretty, but it turned out that Claudia Lake was also the name of the president of The Vampire Lestat fan club, so that wasn't really a name that a vampire author could use. So, I went with Claudia Gray instead.
