Cynthia Polansky: Hello. My name is Cynthia Polansky. The name Polansky means somebody from Poland, but my grandparents were from Russia and they spelled the name Polansky with a Y at the end, unlike other people from Poland, who spell their name Polanski with an I at the end. It's very interesting that a Russian name that means "I'm from Poland" would continue on down my family tree.
