A.S. King: Hello. My name is A. S. King, which most people notice when they look at it, is spelled Asking. A lot of people ask me if I did this on purpose. I kind of did. It just seems to suit me because I'm always asking all sorts of questions and I always have been.

King wasn't always my last name. It is my married name. My maiden name was Amy Sareg, which is where the A. S. comes from. Sareg was changed after my ancestors came here from Germany. It was originally Sarg, which is the direct translation from German for coffin. Basically I come from coffin makers. If ever anyone wondered why my books might tend to go dark then maybe that's part of it.

I like A. S. King. I like that it spells asking. I know that sometimes people think that I am male and not female because I use initials but that wouldn't be the first time that confusion happened.
