Linda est un prénom courant en français, en anglais, et en espagnol. Ma mère a choisi ce prénom à cause de l'actrice américaine Linda Darnell, qui était très populaire dans son temps, et qu'elle trouvait très belle. En espagnol d'ailleurs Linda veut dire "belle." Ma mère aimait beaucoup le cinéma. Elle a aussi nommé ma sœur Audrey, à cause de l'actrice Audrey Hepburn.
Amyot est un nom assez fréquent au Québec. Certains ne prononcent pas le T à la fin, et disent donc "Amyo." Arrivé du sud-ouest de la France, le premier Amyot s'est installé dans la région de Montréal au 17e siècle. Au l'origine, ce nom était diminutif du mot "ami," comme Ed est le diminutif d'Edouard. So Amyo, or Amyot means "little friend."
