Giles Laroche: Hello. My name is Giles Laroche. My name can easily be said in French, too. Giles Laroche. That's how people said my name until at the age of 11, I moved from a French speaking school to an English speaking school. I remember wondering how my new teacher, on the first day of school, would pronounce my name at roll call. She called out Giles Laroche. "Not a bad translation," I thought. Now, everyone calls me Giles, except some members of my family, and French friends that I have who still call me Giles.
