Georgia Heard: Hi, my name is Georgia Heard. People always ask me if I was born in Georgia. No, I wasn't, actually. I was born in Alabama, but my mother was, but that's not why I was named Georgia. It was because I was named after my grandfather George, and Heard is an old family name, going back many, many, years. In fact, the Heard family has a coat of arms with the Latin word audior on it, meaning to hear, and I guess, over the years, it was changed to Heard.
