Julie Bourbeau: Hello, my name is Julie Bourbeau. I married into my last name, and very quickly learned to spell it slowly and carefully when giving it over the phone. I say, "B as in boy, O-U-R, B as in boy, E-A-U." And sometimes repeat that several times. Fortunately it sounds much simpler than it's written.

I do get a lot of fun mispronunciations, though.
People tend to want to pronounce all of the vowels, so I get a lot of variations like, "Boor-bay-a-you." My personal favorite though, the one that makes me giggle a little bit every time is when people mistakenly read it as, "Bourbon."
