A lot of people think that I changed my name to that, but that's the name I was born with. Actually my full name is Steven Light, but I go by Steve Light for my books and that's what everyone calls me, so my name is Steve Light.

Light is a really cool word if you look it up in the dictionary, it means enlightenment or illumination, and the illuminated manuscripts were some of the first books that were actually illustrated. Even though I am an author also, I always consider myself an illustrator and artist first, and a lot of the stories that I come up with start with the pictures, so it's a pretty cool name. And that's my name, Steve Light.
