Kwame Alexander: Hi, my name is Kwame Alexander. It may be a little difficult. It's a name that comes from Ghana, a West African country. And it means "born on Saturday." I'll tell you a little secret, I was born on Wednesday. I asked my parents, "What were you thinking?" Anyway, I love the name. It's really cool and when I got married, I told the preacher, because I didn't want him to mess up my name when he got to that really important part, you know, and so I said, "Look, think of the word swami, you know, a swami, but with a K, Kwame." So we got up there and he said, "Do you Salami, take this ..." and I said, "Really?" And then he kind of caught himself and he said, "Do you Pastrami ..." Oh, my goodness. Look people, it's Kwame Alexander. Don't forget it. K-W-A-M-E.
