Candace Simar: Hello, my name is Candace Simar. Simar is pronounced, Si, as in I and Mar, as in car, SI-MAR. I've been called many things throughout my married life, Simmer, Sylmar, Seymour but, the correct pronunciation is Simar. If I would have known, as a young woman that I would someday be writing historical fiction about Scandinavians in Minnesota, I may have kept my maiden name, which was Jensen.
