Juanita Gordon: Hello. My name is Juanita Gordon. I do not have a middle name, which most people do. Juanita is a Spanish name, so it starts with a J and not a W as some people think. Although I am not Spanish, my family is a blend of African American, African West Indian, and Hispanic folks. My last name is Gordon. That is my married name, which I have kept as a widow and is derived from my husband's ancestors having been brought from Africa to the West Indies as slaves and most likely owned by slave masters with the surname Gordon. My name alone proves why our country should be able to live together in peace. This is what my story is about. A man that died trying to bring us together as one.
