Janine Gibbons: Janine(speaking in Haida) And what that means is I'm just saying, Hi, my name is Janine and I come from the Yaktanas people. We've been around since a very long time, since the great flood and beyond. And I'm actually getting my Haida name. So my name won't be Janine Gibbons any longer, it will be a new name, which I'll get this summer. Janine actually means God is gracious, I believe. It's a Hebrew name, meaning gift from God. And my mother was reading a book when she was pregnant with me and that's where she found my name. But the funny part about my name is that J-nine is my nickname because my name is spelled J A N I N E, and my birth date is 9/18. I'm really big into numbers. So 9/18 is my birthday. My name is J-nine, or Janine. And this year because of DNA, I discovered that I'm part Ashkenazi Jewish. So I'm Native American and I'm also part Jewish along with many other things.
