Jason Lethcoe: My pen name is J.J. Gilbert. My real name is Jason Lethcoe. J.J. Gilbert came about in a special way in that I wanted to honor my grandmother, whose last name was Gilbert. She was a school librarian, and she was the one that introduced me, really, to my love for reading. I remember the first book she brought back from the library, which was Where the Wild Things Are. She would sit there with this book, and we would read together. I was very young. I had to be maybe four-ish. There was such a great feeling that that generated in me and started a love for reading that has lasted my entire life.
