Gennifer Choldenko: Hello. My name is Gennifer Choldenko. "Chol" rhymes with "mole." "Den" rhymes with "hen." "Co" rhymes with "dough." That's Gennifer with a G. The reason I'm Gennifer with a G is I am the fourth child, and all my siblings have names that begin with a G. My parents ran out of names that they liked that began with a G, so they changed a name that began with a J and misspelled it, essentially. I am Gennifer with a G.

My maiden name was Johnson, and I always disliked that name because it was like everybody else's name, and I wanted a really exotic name, but then I fell in love with someone named Brown, and Brown was really no better. I got Choldenko from my husband's family. I went back, when they had immigrated from Poland, and I got the name Choldenko. I lobbied for my husband to change his name to Choldenko also, but he wouldn't do it, so I am Gennifer Choldenko, and he is Jacob Brown.
