Sally Denmead: Hi. My name is Sally Denmead. My last name, Denmead, is a very old name from England. It derives from two words, denu mead, which means a meadow in a small valley in old English. Old English was the language the English were speaking from about 500 to 1100 AD. Neat, right?

There is a town in England called Denmead. It's in the Cotswolds near the southern coast of England, and it used to have its own opera company called the Denmead Opera Company, which I always thought was pretty cool, because I'm an opera singer.

One of the things I really like about my name is how few Denmeads there are in the world. In fact, in the whole world, there is only one other person named Sally Denmead, and she lives in Australia. So we will probably never meet.
