Gary Hines: Hello, my name is Gary Hines. My last name is spelled the English or Irish way and as a little kid, my friends had a field day with that one, calling me all sorts of nicknames like Hiney and Hind End. I sometimes wished I had my mother's maiden name instead which was Lassen. She was a shirttail relation to Peter Lassen, for whom Mount Lassen in California is named.
