Jean Craighead George: Hello, my is Jean Craighead George. That's a lot of name. You probably wonder where it came from. George is the name of my husband. Craighead was the name of a Scotch family that came over to America in 1663.

Jean is also a Scotch name. My parents decided I ought to have a Scotch name since both of them had some Scotch blood, so they gave it to me. It's been useful.
