I spent a lot of time in Scotland doing my research for my books, primarily way up north in the Orkneys and Shetland Islands. Olivier is, obviously, a very French-sounding name, and it's the name that gives most people the hardest time. I always tell them my name is Olivier like Sir Lawrence, and people say, "So your name's Larry."
