Hilari Bell: Hello. My name is Hilari Bell. H-I-L-A-R-I and I made that spelling up myself, so you would think that nobody else would spell Hilari that way. I went to a science fiction convention a few years ago and somebody left a message saying, "I'm not sure if you're the same person I talked to last year, but you must be because nobody else spells Hilari Bell that way." Well, I didn't remember talking to this person so I tracked her down and, no, I wasn't the person she talked to, but the Hilari Bell who she did talk to, who she was trying to get a hold of was someone who spelled her name Hilari Bell, H-I-L-A-R-I, and this person also wrote science fiction and fantasy for children and young adults just like I do and she was a librarian which I also was. So this person not only has my name with my spelling, but both of my two professions, only she lives in Michigan and I live in Colorado. So I guess the moral of this story is no matter how unique you think your name is, it isn't.
