JoAnn Early Macken: Hello, my name is JoAnn Early Macken; I used to be Jo Ann Early and I hated to be late for anything because someone always said, "Hey Early, you're late." But I did like telling people to spell Early just like Early in the morning. When I got married, I squeezed my first name and middle name together to become JoAnn, and made Early my middle name by adding Macken to the end.

Macken is pronounced with a soft A like mac 'n' cheese, JoAnn Early Macken; that's me.
