Ready-to-Use Monthly Lesson Plans, PreK-8
So many books, so little time. How do you choose which book to use for a lesson or storytime?
Simply select a Monthly Lesson Idea to get started. These ideas were inspired by our Literary Calendar, celebrating book creator birthdays, seasonal topics, cultures, and holidays. Each lesson features two titles with easy-to-follow plans plus an author study.
Place them in your digital lesson plan folder and share them with colleagues, substitute teachers, and families. Use them as a template to write your own lesson or storytime plans.
Let us know how you use them!

Sora Wishlist Update
Based on popular demand, districts using both TeachingBooks and Sora will now have the Sora Wishlist feature activated for all educators signed into your TeachingBooks account. This new tool empowers your colleagues to explore the availability of favorite titles that can be added to your Sora collections: across multiple languages and formats, including ebooks, audiobooks, and read-alongs.
What to Expect:
- Coordinators will receive a monthly report listing newly requested titles along with the contact information of the educators who submitted them.
- You'll also receive simple instructions for generating quotes for these titles in OverDrive Marketplace.
Optional Activation for Students: If you'd like to enable the Sora Wishlist feature for students, please visit:

Opt-Out Option for Educators: If you prefer not to offer this feature to educators, you can opt out here:

Libby Discovery is now active on TeachingBooks for Libraries
We're delighted to announce that public library users have a new way to discover and access titles in their Libby collections—directly through TeachingBooks for Libraries! The Libby Discovery feature is the latest collaboration since TeachingBooks joined OverDrive, and is an exciting new way to access Libby collections.
How does it work?
For any library system that has both TeachingBooks and Libby, when patrons or library staff are signed in to TeachingBooks for Libraries, a Libby logo will appear alongside titles that are offered in their library's Libby collection. Clicking the Libby logo enables patrons to borrow or place a hold.
