Alyssa Yokota-Byron
Communication & Project Specialist II
Alyssa's background is in youth development, restorative justice, and program development, implementation, and training. Having worked with TeachingBooks back in 2008-2010, Alyssa is excited to be back and focused on supporting a meaningful experience for both our customers and staff. She believes whole-heartedly in the joy and empowerment that reading can provide—especially when a reader can find themselves reflected in a book. It means a great deal to be able to contribute to the work of TeachingBooks and our mission for equity in this experience. When not at work, her hobbies include rock climbing, longboarding, hiking, family blanket time on the couch, and, of course, reading.
