Claire Legrand: Hello, my name is Claire Legrand, which seems like a simple enough name, but it gets misspelled and mispronounced more often than you would think, like Legrande, Legrains, et cetera. It's a French name as my dad's side of the family hails from France. In New Orleans where my dad is from, they say Legrand, which is how you would pronounce it in French. But I'm from Texas, so I pronounce it Legrand. Claire is the French form of Clara, which means clear, bright, and famous. And Legrand is a French surname that means the tall or large person, which isn't very accurate in my case because I am neither tall, nor large. So I like to interpret it inaccurately as Legrand, the awesome person, like I'm especially grandly awesome, which is a fun to think, especially on bad days when you need a pick me up.
