Glenda Armand: Hello. My name is Glenda Armand. I like my first name because it is also the name of the Good Witch in The Wizard of Oz, one of my favorite movies. My last name is French, and Armand is the French pronunciation or close to it. But I will also answer to the American pronunciation, which is Armand. Armand is actually my maiden name, and before I got married, I pronounced it the American way. About 10 years ago when I decided to go back to using my maiden name, I found that people were pronouncing it the French way, and I decided to go with that. For one thing, when I say, "Armand," the second syllable gets swallowed up, and people often don't hear it. When I say Armand, every letter can be heard, and I like that.
